What is Their Legacy Project?

Their Legacy Project is simply the sharing of a variety of pastor’s sermons converted into Bible studies. I was driving home from seeing my parents when I had picked up a few boxes I needed to deliver to my sister. As I was driving, I looked in the mirror and saw one of the boxes. The boxes contained over 26 years worth of my father’s sermon notes, my father’s legacy was in the back seat of my truck. The Lord gave me this idea, create a place where people can learn from a multitude of pastors. All of these pastors were called by God to teach His people, however only a handful may hear each sermon. My Shepherd Ministry wants to share “Their Legacy” with everybody else.

  • Pastor Ed Schaeffer

    Pastor Ed Schaeffer has been married for over 50 years to Carolina, they have three children, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He accepted Christ at the age 29 and was called into ministry at the age of 44. Pastor Ed and Carol started Harvest Christian Fellowship in southern Arizona and served as the senior pastor for over 26 years. During that time, the church joined the International Foursquare church. He was appointed regional pastor over five churches for six years. Pastor Ed served as an interim pastor for 13 months while he mentored the incoming pastors.

    Pastor Ed retired in January 2021 after 30 years in ministry.

  • Pastor Greg Lavine

    Greg grew up in a Jewish home near Minneapolis and learned Hebrew scripture and tradition from birth. He knew about God, but did not know God. As a young teenager God opened his eyes and awoke his soul to experience Jesus as the messiah, the fulfillment of all he knew. College, marriage to Debra, and seminary followed in Colorado. He’s been at New Life since 1998. Greg and Debra’s incredible adult children (Levi, Abigail, Samuel, and Grace) all grew up in Arizona, and two grandchildren (Mariah and Ethan) call Colorado home. He enjoys hiking, photography, sports, and is a bit fanatical about all things Vikings.

  • Pastor John Beeson

    John grew up in Tucson, Arizona. He received his B.A. from Gordon College. After serving as a Detention Officer in Maricopa County, he received his M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary. He pastored in Princeton for 8 years before returning to Arizona to serve at New Life in 2015. John is married to Angel who serves as a counselor at Whole Hope Christian Counseling. They have two teenagers, Camille and Soren, who bring them constant laughter and joy. The Beesons love good food, adventures, and sports of all types.   • Pastor Joseph Tumpkin

    Pastor Emeritus Joseph L Tumpkin, D.Min., grew up in Detroit, MI where he was saved in his early 20’s and married his wife of almost 58 years, Carolyn. He entered the US Army in 1968 as a Chaplain, serving active and reserve, overseas and stateside, retiring as a Colonel at Ft Huachuca, AZ after 29 plus years. He founded Shiloh Christian Ministries in 1978 and retired in 2017. He and Carolyn still reside in Sierra Vista AZ and are the proud parents of three children, 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

    Pastor Joseph has always been known as a man devoted to prayer, whose deepest desire was and still is, to walk worthily and faithfully to the call of God in these end times, until Jesus comes!
